Before holidays, we studied during a test a short story written by the master of the short stories, Edgar Allan Poe. The name was The Tell-Tale Heart. ( here is the whole tale)
Egdar Allan Poe is a writer and a poet who wrote famous tales like The Gold-Bug or The Oval Portrait and famous poems such as The Bells
The text we studied is named The Tell-Tale Heart. It's kind of creepy, and if you don't like horror, I don't advise you to read this tale. But if you do like fantastic genre, then you will defintely like it as Edgar Poe is the father of Gothic Literature!( Creepy again, huh?)
There were some words I didn't understand at all, but at the end the text was understandable, and maybe it's better not to understand everything that is described because you could be quite disgusted ( no, i'm not kiding, i was almost sick ^^)
Anyway, I loved this tale, although it was a pretty terrifying story, so read it, you will have a good entertainment for your holidays ( if you're in holidays like me :P)

The Cask of Amontillado is a novel written by Edgar A. Poe in 1846. The story takes place in Italy, we don't really know where. As in The Tell-Tale Heart, the narrator is the murderer, which is kind of creepy and weird to read. Here is the whole tale and I'll post the analysis a friend and I made once we've presented it to my teacher.
The scene doesn't takes place in a castle but in a big house. There is mystery and suspense but no ancient prophecy or omens. Even if there is no women in distress, the narrator do a murder which is typical of this sort of litterature. We can list the vocabulary of the gothic in the story like: dusk, madness, damp, bones etc."
Down is the vocabulary I didn't understand and Here is my analysis

Last Tuesday, the work we had to do was to write a pastiche of a text ( we have chosen the blacony scene in Romeo and Juliet). It was already quite hard and it was all the more diffcult that we had to write it in the style of Poe and we had only two hours.
So, if you're interested in reading this pastiche, here is a link to it

On tuesday, we had to choose our final file for this section. After hours of thinkng, I finally found what it'll be composed of:
1. The Raven, by Edgar Allan Poe.
2. The End of The Raven, a parody by " Edgar Allan Poe cat's"
3. The Test, written by the winer of the contest in which you had to pastiche pastiche the Raven.
As an additional document, I've chosen my own pastiche, to talk about how hard it is to do this!
